Bishop’s Message
Glory to God in the highest! Amen.
You are at the beginning of a new Liturgical Year with the season of Annunciation. This is a period of exploration and preparation for the coming of the Lord, Christmas. May I wish you all a Blessed Christmas.
During this Christmas time, it is a nice beginning to reach out to our people and people at large. Let this be a channel to communicate the Good News of Jesus through our Church. The web-site of Holy-Family Church of Oklahoma will be a powerful means to communicate the missionary spirit of our Syro-Malabar Church and the special features of our Church to people of all faiths.
I am glad to work with our people to get them organized as Syro-Malabar Missions and parishes. The dedication of our priests and enthusiasm of our people are really inspiring to work hard for the building up of our Syro-Malabar Church.
Let us remember that the Church is the continuation of Christ and we are the Church to evangelize the present world. Prayerful study and powerful preaching of the Word, devout liturgical and Sacramental celebration and committed charitable services to the needy make our Church alive and faithful to the Lord.
We are the pioneers. The foundation we lay now has to be very strong so that the whole future of our Church be solidly built on it. Let us make our families strong through our daily prayer and liturgical participation. Let us help our children to learn more about our Church through our faith formation. Let us promote vocation to the priesthood, religious life, and family life through our prayer and example.
Let us pray for the grace of God through the special intervention of the Holy Family.
Sincerely in the Lord,
Mar Joy Alappatt
Bishop
St.Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago.
